AniStrim processes personal data subject to applicable privacy and data-protection laws. The governing jurisdiction for the service is Uganda, subject to applicable law.
Information AniStrim processes
Depending on the features a person uses, AniStrim may process:
- Account information, including name, email address, password hash, Google account identifier, avatar, account status, and account role.
- Authentication and security information, including session and refresh-session identifiers, device and platform information, user-agent information, hashed IP security metadata, login history, verification codes, password-reset records, and email-change verification records.
- Playback and personalization information, including watch progress, watch history, watchlist entries, Continue Watching state, dismissed Continue Watching items, recommendations, and notification preferences.
- Activity and service information, including searches and other activity events, playback reports, support messages, API and security logs, service analytics, error records, and email-delivery records.
Some account fields and service modules are administrative, legacy, or conditional. AniStrim does not describe dormant payment or subscription code as active user processing unless that functionality is enabled and used.
Sources and purposes
Information may come directly from a user, from Google when Google authentication is used, from activity in the service, from browser consent choices, from support communications, or from normal service and security operations.
AniStrim uses this information, as applicable, to create and administer accounts, authenticate users, provide playback and requested personalization, provide recommendations and notifications, respond to support requests, maintain security, prevent abuse, operate and improve the service, measure service performance, and comply with applicable legal obligations.
Depending on the processing, a lawful basis may include providing the requested service, consent, legitimate interests such as security and service operation, or a legal obligation. The applicable basis depends on the feature and circumstances.
Cookies, consent, and advertising
AniStrim uses Cookiebot as its consent-management platform for anistrim.com. Cookiebot provides the consent interface and TCF signal, and AniStrim uses manual blocking. To review or withdraw applicable choices, use Privacy Choices.
Advertising is currently disabled on AniStrim. No advertising provider is delivering ads or related advertising tracking through the service. Any future advertising provider would require applicable consent and separate provider, legal, and security approval before processing began.
Service providers and disclosures
AniStrim may disclose information to service providers needed for the functions described above, such as authentication providers, email-delivery providers, hosting and database infrastructure providers, catalogue or media service providers, security and operational providers, and Cookiebot. Google may be involved when Google authentication is selected. Providers receive information only as needed for their service or as required by law.
Processing locations and international-transfer safeguards depend on the providers and infrastructure used at the relevant time. AniStrim will apply safeguards required by applicable law where a transfer requires them.
Retention
Retention depends on the purpose, security needs, account status, legal requirements, and operational needs of the relevant record. Verified implementation expiries include access tokens after 15 minutes, refresh sessions after 30 days, account-verification and OTP codes after 15 minutes, password-reset records after one hour, and OAuth login codes after 10 minutes.
Other account, playback, support, analytics, security, and log information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the service, security, legal, dispute, and operational purposes for which it is used, and is then deleted, anonymized, or securely handled according to applicable requirements and available cleanup processes.
Your choices and rights
Subject to applicable law, a person may contact AniStrim about access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, consent withdrawal, or another privacy request. Contact admin@anistrim.com with enough information for AniStrim to understand and handle the request.
Available account controls include password changes or recovery, session revocation, clearing available history, and account deactivation or deletion. An automated data-export feature is not promised by this policy; access or portability requests can be sent to the privacy contact for review.
Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal or processing that has another lawful basis. Optional processing remains blocked when consent is denied, unavailable, or withdrawn.
Children
AniStrim does not make a separate age-based promise in this policy. Anyone using the service should do so only where legally permitted and with any required parent or guardian involvement.
Changes and contact
AniStrim may update this policy when its service, providers, or legal obligations change. The updated version will show a new last-updated date. Privacy questions, requests, and concerns may be sent to admin@anistrim.com.
